Overview

Prognosis is a short psychological horror experience inspired by the unsettling atmosphere of classic PS1-era survival horror. Drawing inspiration from Silent Hill, Resident Evil, and surreal psychological horror like Twin Peaks, the game combines fixed camera angles, cryptic dialogue, and symbolic environments to explore illness, denial, and the mind’s attempt to understand what it cannot control.

You begin in a small apartment, feeling unwell but trying to ignore it. After a phone call from a concerned friend, you make your way to the local hospital. At first, everything appears normal; quiet hallways, procedural staff, routine diagnostics. But as you progress deeper into the building, the hospital begins to change.

Machines behave strangely. Rooms mirror parts of the human body. Growths appear where they shouldn’t.

Something is wrong.

Using a proximity scanner to locate anomalies, players must investigate the hospital floor by floor, uncovering unsettling irregularities and correcting them to progress. Each discovery reveals more about the nature of the hospital, and about what is happening inside the protagonist’s own body.

As reality begins to blur, the sterile architecture of the hospital slowly gives way to something organic, culminating in a final confrontation with the source of the illness itself.
